Strasburg Railroad

On Friday my sister treated us to a ride on the Strasburg Railroad. My mom went along also and my sister's two youngest kids. Titus is still a little young to enjoy something like this and he was exhausted! He decided not to take a morning nap that day. He typically wakes up around 7am and takes his first nap around 10am. We rode on the 12:30 train and he hadn't slept all morning. He did well, but I wonder if he would've had more fun if he hadn't been so tired. I remember going to the railroad often with my Maw and Paw. It was nice to see my mom enjoying taking her grand kids there as well. I think we are all realizing how few days we have left here and are enjoying each little moment that we spend together.

You can see his tiredness in many of the pictures. There was even a moment when he laid his head down on the windowsill. He has never been one to fall asleep when we're out...but five minutes after we left, he was asleep in his car seat.

Cousins

Last week we took some pictures of the Mayo cousins. Steve's sister (Simone) has three kids...Alonna, Auston, and Autumn. Steve's brother (Scott) has one son...Darnell. The youngest cousin is our little Titus.

I can't decide which I like better, the black & white or color pictures. However, my favorite detail out of all the pictures is in the second picture. Auston holding Autumn's hand. He did this on his own. I told Autumn to put her arm around her brother in the first picture, but the second pose he did on his own. I am continually amazed at how the three siblings look out for each other and really do love one another. It was fun to watch all the cousins together this summer. We were lucky to have Darnell here also, as he lives in Alabama with his mom. There is such joy on the faces of kids during summer break!

We had a great celebration for Titus' 1st birthday. We were blessed to be here in PA and able to celebrate with our friends and family. Enjoy the pictures...

one year.

Our baby turned one last week. Just incredible. There were many years that Steve and I agonized over not being able to get pregnant. There were days when it seemed that everyone around us was adding to their families and yet we were unable to start one of our own. I remember so clearly the day that I found out I was pregnant. And the joy that I had when I told Steve. I enjoyed being pregnant. I loved giving birth. It was an amazing experience. Raising Titus this first year of his life has been challenging...thrilling...wonderful. The love that we have for him is so big that I wonder how it never existed before. Titus is happy, fun, energetic, cautious, curious, observant, spirited, playful, loving ... we are excited to see him continue to grow and develop in the years to come. We ask you all to pray with us for his life and his future.
