Good-bye Florida

Our last morning in Florida was picture perfect. We were really flexible with our moving date and decided to push it back a day so that we could really enjoy our last day as a family living in Florida.

We woke up and went to the beach to take our last 'family beach pictures', and probably, our last 'family of three pictures'. If only Titus had chosen to look at the camera. :)

After taking our pictures we went to the cutest little place on the beach for breakfast. We sat by open windows and ate breakfast while looking out at the ocean. It was the perfect ending to our time living in Florida.

After breakfast we went back to the condo for naps and then our final packing of the car. When it was time to go, Steve took Titus to the window to say "bye" to the boats and then Titus said "Bye house." We then all stood together, Steve holding Titus, and prayed for a safe journey back to PA and thanked God for our time in Florida. I started to cry remembering the challenges of life there, the joys of raising Titus for the first two years of his life, and all that we had experienced there. We left our little home in Lighthouse Point at 7:30pm. Driving out was a mix of emotions. Steve will be flying back down this week to drive a Uhaul back with all of our belongings, so that drive out was not his last. But for Titus and I...not sure when we'll be back, if ever.

The drive went well. It could have been better, but could have been much worse. Titus fell asleep after about two hours and slept off and on throughout the drive. Steve drove until 6:30am, stopping just a couple of times for gas. We checked in to a hotel and slept for two hours and then got up, had breakfast, lounged for a little and left again after just six hours. We got back on the road at noon. Titus did really well. He only slept an hour on our second stretch. We stopped once, for an hour, to eat and continued to drive. Although Titus had some cranky moments, he didn't have any major meltdowns. He really did do a great job for it being such a long drive...and at an age where he is so active. I only survived because I knew it was the last time we would be making that trip.
